Meet the Professionals

Cyd McDaniel, LCSW

You don't have to have it all figured out to start.

I've spent over 20 years walking with people in the middle of hard things — relationship strain, painful transitions, the quiet ache of feeling disconnected from yourself or someone you love. I founded Essential Journey Counseling and Essential Journey Wellness because I believe deeply that healing is possible, and that the right support makes all the difference.

If you're a couple struggling to find your way back to each other, or a family trying to navigate change without losing each other in the process, I want you to know — you don't have to have the right words when you walk in. I'll listen without judgment, help you make sense of what you're feeling, and offer real, practical tools — not just conversation.

My approach isn't one-size-fits-all. I meet you where you are — whether that's exhausted, uncertain, or just ready for something to finally feel different — and I work with you at a pace that feels right.

In addition to my private practice, I also serve as a contractor with Onsite Workshops, a nationally recognized intensive healing program in Tennessee, where I support clients doing some of the deepest, most courageous work of their lives.

If you're ready to take the next step — or even just curious about what that might look like — I'm here.

Jennifer Mejia-Holguin, LMFT

Wherever you are right now — you belong here.

I know it takes courage to reach out. Whether you've been thinking about this for a while or something finally brought you to this moment, I want you to know — I'm glad you're here, and you don't have to have it all together to get started.

My name is Jennifer Mejia-Holguin, and I work with individuals, couples, and families who are ready for something to feel different — more connected, more understood, more like themselves. I believe every person carries their own story, shaped by experiences, relationships, and the world around them, and I consider it a privilege to be invited into that story with you.

I specialize in helping couples and families work through the things that can quietly build walls between people — communication struggles, relational stress, life transitions that shift everything. I bring a thoughtful, culturally responsive approach to this work, because I know that who you are, where you come from, and what you've lived through all matter deeply in the healing process. I am also bilingual, offering therapy in both English and Spanish — because healing should never feel limited by language, and everyone deserves to be heard in the words that feel most like home.

My style is collaborative and nonjudgmental. I won't tell you what to feel or where you should be in your journey. Instead, I'll sit with you, help you build insight, and offer practical tools that support real, lasting change — not just in the therapy room, but in your everyday life.

Even in the hardest seasons, I believe healing is possible. Reconnection is possible. And you don't have to figure out the path alone.

When you're ready, I'm here.
