How Parent Coaching Works

Parent coaching provides a supportive space to step back, understand what may be happening beneath your child’s behavior, and learn practical strategies that strengthen the parent-child relationship.

Sessions focus on helping parents feel more confident responding to challenging moments while building connection and cooperation at home.

An Evidence-Based Approach to Parenting

My work with parents is grounded in CARE (Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement) and informed by Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

These approaches focus on strengthening the parent-child relationship while helping caregivers guide behavior in calm and effective ways.

Many families find that small shifts in how they respond to their child can lead to meaningful changes at home.

Hi, I’m Corrine “Corri” Andersen, a licensed therapist and PCIT-Certified clinician, and I focus on supporting parents of young children.

Many of the families I work with deeply love their children but feel overwhelmed by the daily challenges that can come with raising young kids—tantrums, big emotions, defiance, or ongoing power struggles. Parenting children ages 2–10 can be one of the most meaningful and demanding seasons of family life, and it’s common for parents to reach a point where they want guidance and practical tools that truly help.

In my work with families, I focus on helping parents feel supported, confident, and equipped with skills they can use in everyday parenting moments. I use research-supported approaches grounded in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and CARE (Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement) to help strengthen the parent-child relationship while guiding behavior in calm and effective ways.

Rather than focusing on blame or judgment, I work collaboratively with parents to understand what may be happening beneath a child’s behavior and to build strategies that increase connection, cooperation, and confidence at home.

I often see that small shifts in how parents respond to their child can lead to meaningful changes in their relationship and daily routines.

It’s an honor for me to support families as they grow in confidence and create a more peaceful and connected home environment.
